The B-I-B-L-E

The Bible is God's Holy Word, the Book of timeless truth, inspired by God himself. In it, God reveals his character, unfolds his plan to save all people, tells us what he expects of us, and gives us glimpses into the future. It is the firm foundation to build our life upon. The B-I-B-L-E is a series that presents God's Word in a language and style accessible to children and early readers. This first volume contains a selection from the Old Testament (Psalms) and a selection from the New Testament (1 John). Psalms teaches us to come to God with every problem and every success. It teaches us to always praise God. It teaches us to live above the circumstances of life, knowing that God is faithful. Psalms repeatedly tells us of God's unfailing love for us. 1 John is a beautiful book about God's love for us and the love we should show to each other. It challenges us to faithfully follow the Truth, living in the light that God's Word offers. That is the secret to living in peace and harmony and closeness to one another. Jan Harthan and her husband, Dave, have served with Wycliffe Bible Translators since 1971. They worked for 19 years in Brazil and 10 years in Mozambique. She is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Jan's lifelong passion has been to provide opportunities for people's lives to be transformed through their habitual contact with the Word of God. A teacher by training, a copy editor by experience, and a follower of Jesus Christ by choice, she is utilizing her gifts to produce a paraphrase of God's Word that will grow and nurture children after God's own heart.
