William Wegman Puppies

Known worldwide for his sophisticated photographs of weimaraners, William Wegman is one of today's most celebrated artists. In Puppies, Wegman provides in his own words a look at how his work has progressed since he brought Man Ray, his first puppy, home. The book provides compelling insight into Wegman's work and his true love and respect for his dogs. With his characteristic wit, the photographer reveals his initial discovery of Man Ray's seemingly innate talent before the camera. He goes on to relate his experiences in delivering and raising Fay's and, later, Battina's litters. Wegman also explores the individual personalities of the puppies as well as the special relationships that develop between them. William Wegman's photographs, videotapes, paintings, and drawings have been exhibited in museums and galleries internationally. A retrospective of his work traveled throughout the United States and Europe, including the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
